ASU has been ranked among top 300 environmentally friendly universities of the world

Altai State University participated in UI GreenMetric World Universities Ranking 2016 and took the 286th place among 514 universities of the world, the 11th place among Russian universities and the 3rd place among universities of Siberian Federal District.

Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) has outdone other Russian higher education establishments by capturing the 115th position. It is followed by Voronezh State University (144) and Tomsk Polytechnic University (165).

The main ranking criteria include consumption and saving of energy, scientific research in ecology and efficient resource consumption, green spaces, number of education courses in ecology, number of publications in ecology, etc.

Altai State University primarily owes such a high position in an international ranking to the active development of student practice sites and ASU departments that carry out research in the field of ecology.

UI GreenMetric World Universities Ranking was initiated by the University of Indonesia (Universitas Indonesia) in 2010. It is aimed at providing the result of online survey regarding the current condition and policies related to Green Campus and Sustainability in the Universities all over the world and drawing attention of university leaders to combating global climate change, energy and water conservation, waste recycling, and green transportation. Any university can easily take part by filling out an online survey form.
