ASU improved its positions in Webometrics international ranking

Results of Webometrics Ranking of World Universities based on performance of world’s higher education establishments in the second half of 2017 have been published.

Altai State University has risen up by 39 positions and now takes the 2,870th place in the list of world universities, which includes 11,992 higher education establishments.

Altai State University managed to outrun a number of universities, members of 5-100 project, including Saint Petersburg State Electrotechnical University (2898th), Immanuel Kant State University of Russia (4958th), Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy (3799th), Tyumen State University (2954th), etc.

Altai State University takes the 35th place among 1197 higher education institutions of Russia indexed by the ranking. It has risen up by 1 position.

The achieved results clearly demonstrate the university’s dynamic development and raise the recognition of the university in the international academic community.

It is to be noted that Webometrics Ranking is published by the Cybermetrics Lab research group of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). It has been conducted since 2004 and is updated every January and July. It is one of the main and most important rankings in the world.

Webometrics does not only analyze representation of the universities on the Internet on the basis of incoming links to their websites, which reflect their popularity and prestige value, but also estimates the number of universities publications issued within the last 5 years and 10%  of the most referent academic papers.
