Altai State University is one of the three best universities in Russia in the global Nature Index Ranking

A number of global scientometric rankings of Nature Index Ranking have been released, which are based on data on university research publications in leading world scientific journals.

In the global ranking of Nature Index Ranking - Nature & Science, the flagship Altai State University takes the 3rd position among 21 Russian universities that had published in 2019 in the leading world journals Nature & Science.

In particular, in the publishing house Science, which is in the TOP-3 scientific journals of the planet, in 2019 an article was published based on the results of an international study, in which scientists from AltSU took part: Doctor of History, Professor, Head of the Department of Archeology, Ethnography and Museology, Alexey A. Tishkin, Professor of the Department of Archeology, Ethnography and Museology, Doctor of History Sergey P. Grushin and Doctor of History, Head of the Department of Regional Studies of Russia, National and State-Confessional Relations Petr K. Dashkovsky. The new world-class scientific results obtained on the basis of the interdisciplinary research and international scientific cooperation in the field of historical and archaeological research on the study of the genome and culture of the Denisovans have produced a wide public response.

AltSU got the 12th position among the leading universities of Russia in the global subject ranking Nature Index Ranking - Life Sciences, staying ahead of 10 universities of Project 5-100.
In the global subject ranking Nature Index Ranking - Earth & Environmental Sciences, AltSU received the 15th position among the leading universities in Russia, staying ahead of 3 out of 12 universities included in the Project 5-100 ranking.
The published rankings confirm the international relevance of the research agenda of AltSU scientists and meeting the world scientific trends by the Altai Krai flagship university.
