Foreign students do an internship at the Faculty of Biology

Faculty of Biology specialists are in high demand both in Russia and abroad. Students regularly undergo internships at leading Russian universities. Faculty of Biology also invites foreign students for internships. This winter ASU Faculty of Biology hosts doctoral student from Kazakhstan Nurlygul Utarbaeva. Her scientific advisor is Doctor of Biology, Professor Marina M. Silantyeva.

“I have come from Astana. I undergo a scientific internship under the supervision of Doctor of Biology, Professor Marina M. Silantyeva at Altai State University. The topic of my thesis is “Tree Plantations of Aktobe Region”. My internship includes several stages: at the moment we are discussing the plan of my work for summer, I’m getting acquainted to the library collection, herbarium material and working methods; then I am going to do few more months of internship at ASU within three years,” says Nurlygul Utarbaeva.

“We are glad to collaborate with Eurasian National University (Astana, Kazakhstan). In the framework of joint work we intend not only to provide foreign students with internships at ASU Faculty of Biology, but to send our students abroad. Furthermore, we are going to conduct seminars and deliver lectures for Eurasian National University doctoral students during this academic year,” shares her plans Doctor of Biology, Professor Marina M. Silantyeva.

L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (ENU) is a higher education establishment located in Astana, Kazakhstan. It was named after Russian scientists, historian and ethnologist Lev Gumilyov. ENU includes 26 scientific institutions (research institutes, laboratories, centers), 13 faculties, the Institute for Additional Education and Professional Development, the Military Department, and cultural and educational centers of different countries. The system of specialist training at the university is conducted on 3 levels of education: basic higher education (Bachelor’s Degree Programs), Master’s Degree Programs and Postgraduate Programs.
