E.V. Demchik participated in international scientific conference in Saint Petersburg

On 17–19 March Faculty of History Dean, Doctor of History Evgeniya V. Demchik took part in major international scientific conference “Material Factor and Entrepreneurship in Everyday Life of Russian People: Past and Present”, which was held in Saint Petersburg. At the plenary session she delivered her report titled “Businesses’ credit activities in Siberia: New Economic Policy experience”.

In the report E.V. Demchik presented the results of her longstanding research conducted in the framework of the project in Altai history of banking and preparation of three-volume scientific book “The History of Altai”.

The conference participants included representatives of many Russian scientific schools, scientists from Finland, Germany, Moldova, Armenia, who work in the area of economic history and history of everyday life. Interdisciplinary nature of the discussed questions, big number of participants and creative atmosphere encouraged heated debates concerning different problems, including the problem of using historical experience for business activities regulations in the modern practice. The conference participants noted the great value of such events for Russian scientific schools’ integration and for the development of international relationships between the scientists from different countries.
