Delegation of Altai State University philologists arrived in Russian-Tajik Slavonic University (RTSU) on a working visit.

The meeting with RTSU Rector Nurali N. Salikhov took place at the beginning of the visit. Nurali N. Salikhov and Dean of ASU Faculty of Mass Communications, Philology and Political Science Sergey A. Manskov discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation and reached an agreement on realization of joint educational programs. Representative of ASU Admission Board Ekaterina G. Romanova dwelled upon summer admission campaign.

Further Vice-Rector for International Relations Umed A. Mansurov gave the guests a tour around RTSU. ASU philologists were pleasantly impressed by the newly built campus of the university. Russian colleagues noted that technical equipment, information stands, classes and offices meet the strictest and highest requirements. Moreover, due to the high-quality education, Russian-Tajik Slavonic University is often visited by the government officials, which is depicted in numerous photos. Russian guests also like the university’s television and radio studios. Such great conditions must encourage students to get only excellent marks.

On the same day Umed A. Mansurov took Russian philologists to RTSU secondary comprehensive school, where International Competition in the Russian Language, Literature and Culture took place. Tenth-grade pupils were delighted to take part in the event and showed their proficiency in the Russian language. The winners will participate in the 2nd tour of the competitions that will be held in 2017.

The second day of the visit was coordinated by Dean of Philological Faculty at Russian-Tajik Slavonic University Rustam D. Salimov. ASU delegation participated in organization of International Student Competition in the Russian Language and hosted the educational seminar “Russian Language: New Approaches towards Cooperation between Language and Culture”.

Seminar curator Sergey A. Manskov noted:

“My colleagues and I received the impression of finding ourselves on a marvelous island. Few Russian universities can display outstanding success in training philologists. Russian-Tajik Slavonic University has chosen this direction. Philological Faculty has become a core of the whole university. We were pleasantly surprised at scientific and methodical framework. Almost every course has all the necessary materials, textbooks, study guides and monographs written by RTSU lecturers. There is also an opportunity for launching such practice-oriented courses as “Journalism” and “Public Relations”.”

After the seminar the deans of two universities negotiated further collaboration with the support of Russkiy Mir Foundation.

At the end of the third day Sergey A. Manskov delivered a lecture “Development Trends in Modern Russian Literature”. After the monological part the participants continued discussing the key points of the lecture and literary bestsellers.

On the official part coming to an end, philologists of Altai State University and Russian-Tajik Slavonic University proceeded to the cultural program and discussion of future joint projects.
