The I Congress-Exhibition “Russian Word in the Dialogue of Russian and Kyrgyz Cultures” completed in Bishkek

The I Congress-Exhibition “Russian Word in the Dialogue of Russian and Kyrgyz Cultures” came to the completion with the festival of Russian and Kyrgyz national cultures on October 26 in Bishkek. The congress was organized by Altai State University in conjunction with B.N. Yeltsin Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University in the framework of The Russian Language federal target program for 2016–2020.

The last day of the The I Congress-Exhibition “Russian Word in the Dialogue of Russian and Kyrgyz Cultures” began with the holding of an educational seminar on "Using the Cultural Heritage of Russia to Study the Russian Language and Positioning Russian Education, Science and Art in Kyrgyzstan".

Candidate of Philology, assistant professor at the Department of Art Theory and Cultural Studies O.A. Alimushkina; Candidate of Philology, assistant professor at I. Arabaev Kyrgyz State University, former Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan G.U. Soronkulov; Candidate of Pedagogics, head of the Laboratory for Education Theory and Practice under Kyrgyz Academy of Education E.A. Supataeva; Doctor of Philology, head of the Department of History and Literature Theory at Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University B.T. Koichuev; and senior lecturer at the Department for Theory and History of Russian Literature under Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University L.E. Yakovleva shared the best practices of teaching the Russian language and Russian literature in Kyrgyzstan, spoke on problems and objectives posed for teachers, who preserve and spread the language of Pushkin, Gogol and Tolstoy in this Central Asian country.

Participants of The Russian Language federal target project and Vice-Rector for International Affaris Development of Altai State University R.I. Raikin joined the seminar from Barnaul in online mode. R.I. Raikin welcomed the seminar participants:

“Let me welcome all participants of today's event on behalf of the leadership of Altai State University! I would like to express special gratitude to Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University and its Rector Vladimir I. Nifadev for their help and support in carrying out a very significant event. Of course, the opportunity to learn Russian and receive education in Russian abroad, especially in the countries of the former Soviet Union, is a very important task that we all are responsible for!”

Representatives of Altai State University told the audience about projects on promotion of the Russian language in the Central Asian region, currently being implemented by the flagship university. In particular, Doctor of Sociology, Professor, head of the Department of Psychology of Communication and Psychotechnologies of Altai State University S.G. Maksimova presented her project entitled "The Russian Language as a Uniting Element of Identity and the Basis of Cooperation in Russia, CIS Countries and Far-Abroad Countries" to the colleagues from Kyrgyzstan.

Candidate of Philology, Assistant Professor, head of the Sector for Information and Remote Technologies in Education O.A. Kovalev and Candidate of Arts, Assistant Professor of the Department Russian and International Art History O.A. Shelyugina spoke on the electronic course entitled "Symbols and Images of the Russian Language, Education, History and Culture of Russia", which was created and opened for everyone on the e-learning portal of Altai State University in the framework of The I Congress-Exhibition “Russian Word in the Dialogue of Russian and Kyrgyz Cultures”. The course allows students to learn about life and creative heritage of outstanding figures in Russian culture and art, find out new facts about Russian architectural monuments, test their knowledge with the help of different tasks. During the week of the congress work, access to the electronic version of 9 volume collected works by V.M. Shukshin was granted. Participants of the online seminar exchanged their views on the tasks that were facing each project, asked questions to the speakers.

The last day of the congress was busy. It ended with a bright joyful Festival of Russian and Kyrgyz National Cultures, which took place in the Great Assembly Hall of Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University. The event attracted more than 400 spectators, including students and lecturers of Bishkek universities, as well as residents of the city.

The audience saw vocal and choreographic performances by students of Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University and other higher and secondary educational institutions of the capital of the Kyrgyzstan, as well as by theater actors. The performances appeared to be highly professional; they introduced the audience to various aspects of folk, original, national art and contemporary, popular art of Russia and Kyrgyzstan. At the end of the concert, its participants and organizers were presented with certificates on behalf of the organizing committee.

At the end of the festival project supervisor, Doctor of History, Dean of the Faculty of Arts of Altai State University L.I. Nekhvyadovich noted that it was art that constituted the core of a national culture.
