Vice-Rector for International Affairs Development meets Chinese delegates

International cooperation development, search for new partner universities are among the most important objectives handled by the International Affairs Department. Delegation from Altai Prefecture in China was invited to Altai State University and arrived in Barnaul on February 10. Three teachers and three graduates from prefecture schools are going to study Russian at ASU Preparatory Department. After they complete the course, they will be able to be accepted to the faculties of their interest.

The meeting with Vice-Rector for International Affairs Development Roman I. Raikin was one of the first events of the delegation’s program. In the course of the conversation Roman I. Raikin congratulated the delegates on the New Year. The guests visited the museum exposition of Asian Universities Association and shared their first impressions of Altai State University.

Bakhedzholi Fulati: “The weather here is similar to our region, it is familiar and comfortable for us.”

Jubali Halyang: “I want to study the Russian language and enter your university. Local food is still strange for us, but I think, we will get used to it.”

Guzyla Shadeke: “I like your university. The lecturers explain everything in an understandable manner. The only thing that bothers me is 2 hours jet lag. It is a bit unusual for us to get up early in the morning.”

Roman I. Raikin also told the guests about cooperation between ASU and Department of Education of Altai Prefecture of China. He touched upon the priority of the Russian language in Asia. Moreover, the meeting participants discussed organization, peculiarities and problems of their first Russian classes.

Delegation members noted student dormitory administration’s warm hospitality and lecturers’ diligence.

Huang Feifei: “The lecturers explain everything in detail. If we don’t understand, they repeat and explain one more time. They treat us with diligence. We thank them for it!”

Altai Prefecture Department for Education is going to send their students to Altai State University for taking Russian language courses on a permanent basis. They will first be trained at the Preparatory Department and then enter different majors and get higher education.
