The International Affairs Department comprises:

  • International Relations Office;
  • Office for International Educational Programs and Academic Mobility;
  • International Students Center.  

International Relations Office

The International Relations Office is the first port of call for prospective international students and scholars at the Altai State University. It serves the international students who attend the Altai State University.

The International Relations Office provides the following services:

  • processes legal documents required for the admission of all international students (including undergraduate, graduate, special, exchange, and visiting students);
  • visa support (invitation letters for entry, renewal of visas);
  • registration of duration of stay at Federal Migration Service for foreign students and researches; 
  • counseling and support in preparing documents for the procedure of recognition of foreign educational certificates;
  • provides counseling related to emergencies and immigration issues.

Office for International Educational Programs and Academic Mobility

Office for International Educational Programs and Academic Mobility is aimed at administrative support and development of academic exchanges between Altai State University and partner foreign Universities. Academic mobility of the University is developing on the base of Bilateral Agreements on exchange, joint degree programs, integrated programs and within project and programs initiated and financed by national agencies and services of academic mobility of foreign countries. 

Altai State University is a member of the University of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (USCO). USCO is a network university, which combines educational potential of several universities from Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. Education at USCO is based on academic exchange, while each student of joint cooperation program must spend at least one semester in partner university from another country. In cooperation with USCO partners Altai State University implements  the following academic programs: IT, Ecology, Regional Studies, Economics, Pedagogics. 

Office for International Educational Programs and Academic Mobility provides the following services:

  • Information support of the University departments and units about academic mobility programs and competitions announced by the partner Universities;
  • Analysis and assessment of programs efficiency and new partners search;
  • Assistance for incoming and outgoing students with the necessary application documents and information;
  • Comunication with the partner institutions.

International Students Center

  • helps students and faculty adjust to life in Russia and to the study process at the Altai State University;
  • support during accommodation at the univerisity dormitory;
  • meeting of groups of foreign students at airports (upon request).
