Professor from Altai State University Yury Goncharov gave a course on world history at Urgench State University of Uzbekistan
From April 11 to 23, Professor of the Department of National History Yuri Goncharov gave a course of lectures on world history to 3rd and 4th year students of the Faculty of History by invitation of the Urgench State University of Uzbekistan.
Yuri Goncharov has become the first professor from Russia who taught UrSU students entirely in Russian:
The Faculty of History of Urgench State University has a Russian-speaking group which trains history teachers for Russian-speaking schools, which are many in Uzbekistan. It was a pleasure for me to work there, the students are well-read, literate, and pretty fluet in Russian. Our work was intense and fruitful: four undergraduates expressed their desire to study for a Master’s degree in Turkology at the Institute of History and International Relations, Altai State University.
During the visit, Professor Yuri Goncharov met with UrSU Rector Bakhrom Abdullayev and Head of the Department of History Utkir Abdullayev. The parties discussed further cooperation in education and research, plans for training specialists, and cooperation with the Center of the Greater Altai.
