“AltSU gives me a lot!” says a master's student of "The Greater Altai" from Kazakhstan
More than 100 students and undergraduates from Kazakhstan took part in the IX Regional Youth Conference "My choice is science!" at Altai State University.
The most numerous was the section "Digital technologies for data analysis for sustainable development", organized by the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies of Altai State University, where 15 students and undergraduates from S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan State University and North Kazakhstan University named after M. Kozybayev gave their reports.
Most of them study at Altai State University within the framework of the project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation "The Turkic World of the Greater Altai: Unity and Diversity in History and Modernity."
The students spoke about their developments in the field of digital services for the analysis and forecast of food and information security in large areas of the regions of Central Asia.
According to the head of the master's program "Digital Data Analysis Technologies for the Sustainable Development of the Regions of North and Central Asia", an expert of the REC of Altaic and Turkic Studies "The Greater Altai", an associate professor of Altai State University Elena Ponkina, the conference brought together students from various educational programs of the master's program of Altai State University and two universities of Kazakhstan.
A diploma for the best performance was received by a student of the undergraduate program "Information Systems" Kamilla Rakhymbek for a brilliant report on the topic "Analysis of seismic events using an interactive application (Shiny Dashboard)" (supervisor - PhD doctor of S. Amanzholov Higher State University, an expert of the REC of Altaistics and Turkology "The Greater Altai" Marhab Karmenov).
The report of the undergraduate Adilet Amangeldin, who is studying under the joint master's program of Altai State University and S. Amanzholov Higher State University within the framework of the project "The Turkic world of the Greater Altai", was recommended for publication in the conference proceedings.
Adilet Amangeldin is studying in a joint master's program on the profile "Digital Data Analysis Technologies for the Sustainable Development of the Regions of North and Central Asia" for the first year. He is engaged in the scientific topic of increasing the intellectual level and learning outcomes in the field of IT technologies through the introduction of robotics elements based on the Arduino platform into the secondary education system under the supervision of an associate professor of Altai State University, an expert of the REC of Turkology Elena Ponkina and PhD, Dean of Higher School of IT and Natural Sciences of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan State University Saltanat Adikanova.
The young scientist said that he was motivated to enter the joint master’s program of Altai State University by the opportunity to receive two diplomas at the same time and good reviews about the university. In addition, Adilet likes the strict academic discipline and the high level of teaching at AltSU. In the status of a master's student of AltSU, Adilet recently gave a lecture at the Kazakh-American Free University in Ust-Kamenogorsk on the topic "Analysis and synthesis of information systems."
"I really liked it in Barnaul. People here are like us, very sociable. After all, we are friendly countries. AltSU gives me a lot, thanks to all the teachers!’ said Adilet Amangeldin.
According to the expert of the REC for Altaistics and Turkology "The Greater Altai", professor of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan State University Markhaba Karmenova, participation in Russian scientific conferences stimulates students to scientific work, and the territorial proximity of the border regions of Russia and Kazakhstan allows choosing common problems and objects for analysis.
Head of the joint master's program from the North-Kazakhstan University. M. Kozybayeva, Head of the Department of Mathematics and Informatics Askar Tadzhigitov, in turn, noted the promising topics for presentations of future master's theses and wished Russian and Kazakhstani undergraduates success in science.
