ASU will become the center of relevant scientific fields for Russian Science Day

Altai State University is preparing an extensive, highly topical program for the Russian Science Day, which is held annually on 8 February.

The Science Day will start with the opening of Scientific and Production Laboratory for Multifunctional Hydroponic Installations for Original Virus-Free Seed Potato Growing at Altai Center of Applied Biotechnology. This is the university’s 17th laboratory with equipment unique for the region. At the opening ceremony ASU biotechnologists are going to present the outcomes of their work in plants clonal micropropagation.

The key events of the Russian Science Day at ASU will be the grand meeting of the Joint Scientific and Technical Council and academic sessions of ASU scientific and educational complexes, as well as laboratories and centers established in cooperation with SB RAS, which will be held at the following issue-related sites: “Living Systems”, “Geological Monitoring and Environment Conservation”, “Cultural Heritage, Social and Economic Development and Trans-Border Cooperation”. In the framework of organized sessions the leading scientists are going to deliver their lectures on the research results in genetic bioengineering when developing immunomodulatory agents for the purpose of cancer therapy or when creating HIV and Ebola vaccines.

ASU Faculties are inviting Russian Science Day participants and guests to the public lectures and seminars, where topical issues of chemistry, clinical psychology, programming, biogeography of Altai Mountains, study of social utopias in history and modernity will be considered.

The events dedicated to Russian Science Day start next week at Altai State University. On 1–2 February RAS corresponding member, scientific supervisor of ASU Laboratory of Mathematic Modeling in Heterogenious Environment Mechanics under SB RAS M.A. Lavrentyev Institute of Fluid Dynamics V.V. Pukhnachev will conduct the Youth Seminar-School “Relevant Objectives of Continuous Medium Mechanics”, where he is going to discuss several topics related to a number of mathematical models.
