Today Altai State University hosted a scientific-practical seminar (round table) "Directions and projects of sustainable development of the territories of Altai Krai: development and implementation experience."

Since 2019, the flagship university of Altai Krai, as part of the implementation of the strategic project “Sustainable Development of the Altai Territories in the Cross-border Space”, held the third scientific and practical seminar in the format of a project session and a round table dedicated to the practice of strategizing in the municipalities of Altai Krai and territorial development projects.
The project session that opened today at Altai State University has become a communication platform for discussing the experience and results of strategic planning and a constructive discussion on the most important and acute issues of implementing strategies and integrated projects for the development of rural areas of Altai Krai.

The session, moderated by the well-known journalist, an economic observer Artem Kudinov, was attended by: Head of the strategic project "Sustainable development of Altai territories in the transboundary space", Director of MIEMIS Stepan Mezhov, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Development of Altai State University Alexander Dunets, Head of the Department of Economic Security, Accounting, Analysis and Audit of Altai State University Inna Sannikova, Head of the Department of Economic Geography and Cartography of the Institute of Geography of Altai State University Evgeniy Krupochkin, an associate professor of the Department of Economic Geography and Cartography Alexander Krotov, Director of OOO “Barnaul Gorelektroset” Alexander Yashchenko, Deputy Director for Economics and Finance of OOO “Ecosoyuz” Maria Kulagina, Director of the Center for Communication Solutions and Consulting Alexander Bushmansky, an associate professor of the Department of Finance and Credit Svetlana Lepeshkina.

“We have created a good communication platform where we discuss the real experience of strategic planning of municipal development projects. This year we are holding a seminar together with partners – OOO “Barnaul Gorelektroset”, OOO “Ecosoyuz”, which, of course, includes presentations by experts from these companies of their experience of creating and implementing projects in accordance with the stated topic”, clarified, opening the event, Director of MIEMIS Stepan Mezhov. “Our project has been implemented for the third year and aims at sustainable development of territories, through the identification of unique characteristics and endogenous factors of development. However, in 2020 there were significant changes that we took into account both in our projects and in the development strategies of municipalities. A key national priority was identified - this is saving people; new Covid realities and a "green" vector of development, which is also relevant for Altai State University, were taken into account. Altai Krai is an energy-dependent region, so it is necessary to search for projects that will ensure the economic growth of the required amount of energy. We will take all these points into account both in the new university development program and in the development strategies of municipalities.”

It should be noted that for today, scientists of Altai State University together with municipalities have developed four strategies for the regions development.

The seminar gathered together heads and specialists of state authorities and local self-government, leading scientists, experts, representatives of public organizations and the business community, and the media.
