The winners of the grant competition of AltSU rector for college education became known

19 August 2022 AltSU College

14 applicants became winners of the rector's grant competition and will now study free of charge at the college of Altai State University. In total, 32 people took part in the competition from June 17 to August 10. Not all applicants for vocational education programs were admitted to the competition, but only children with an average grade of 4.9 and above and with individual achievements (portfolio).

In 2022, the AltSU College did not recruit for state-funded places, the children were recruited exclusively for places with full reimbursement of expenses. The admission of many high-score students (according to the average score of the certificate) was supported by the grant of the rector of AltSU.

“The rector's grant is actually a payment for the student's education at the university,” said Anton Pinchuk, executive secretary of the selection committee of the AltSU College. “A student, as a general rule, is considered a student for a fee, however, the university pays for him. We wanted to attract smart and talented guys who from year to year can fully claim the state-funded place. With a score of 4.9 and above, it is easy to get a state-budget place. However, we were competitive to some educational institutions that get funding by accepting the best guys. The competition commission noted that some contestants have long decided on their future profession - their portfolio is filled with specialized individual achievements (for example, there are such guys among the winners in the specialty "design"). It is noteworthy that some of the winners were ready to study for a fee (and even have paid for their education), just to become a student of Altai State University, but the news of the victory in the competition was a pleasant surprise for them. In accordance with the grant regulations, their payment will be returned.”

The College has allocated 25 places paid by the university. Lucky for such specialties as "design", "information security of automated systems", "information systems and programming (developer of web and multimedia applications)" on the basis of secondary education, "information systems and programming (specialist in testing in the field of information technology)” on the basis high education, “rational use of environmental complexes”.

How to win a rector’s grant AltSU for college education, the winners of the competition told.

“The admission committee told us about the grant. I thought that this was a good chance - you can study for free if you study well. AltSU is prestigious, so I preferred this College to other educational institutions with stae-funded places. I chose the specialty "Information systems and programming (developer of web and multimedia applications)". I want to try myself in the field of programming, because now this is a profitable direction. My achievements and desire to enter helped me to win,” said Roman Lushkov.

“My friends and relatives recommended the AltSU College to me. This educational institution has a good reputation,” says Kirill Tarasov. “I learned about the grant from the College website. The admissions office told me the details. Having studied several areas, I chose the profile of a “tester” for myself, I heard that when you get this profession, it’s easier to get a job in the future. It was a little luck that helped me win.”

“I learned about the AltSU College when they still had state-funded places. Unfortunately, in the year of my admission there was no such possibility, then on the College website I read about a worthy alternative to the state-funded places - the rector's grant. I met the requirements for participation - I have a high overall grade point average and a good portfolio. I chose the AltSU College because it implements the training program that interests me (it is new and promising), and I also liked the opportunity to continue my studies at AltSU with a shorter time frame. In addition, the College is known in our region, it has good reviews. This is important to me! I purposefully went to study for the specialty "Ensuring information security of automated systems". I am interested in the IT industry; I plan to become a "security officer". The portfolio accumulated during my school years helped me to win,” Yaroslav Adamov shared.

“We came to apply for paid education, and we were told that my graduation score was suitable for participation in the rector's grant,” Sofya Rybakova said. "I had a portfolio and I decided that I could compete for the victory. I consider AltSU College the best college where I could study in Barnaul, so without a doubt I went to apply there. I am interested in further higher education at AltSU, and with the College, further admission to the university becomes easier. I studied purposefully at Design, I have been drawing all my life, and I like it.

Congratulations on the victory, we wish you success in your studies and conquering new heights! We thank you for choosing the College of Altai State University with the full understanding that AltSU is a quality mark.
