As part of the celebration of the Day of student groups, veterans of the movement of Altai State University went to the village of Vylkovo. Experienced members of the movement and its veterans took part in the program “Back to Basics”. This village was chosen on purpose.

"This village is significant for us - graduates of the Faculty of History of Altai State University," said Gennady Sheyda, commissioner of the SCB “Skif” in 1985-1986, commissioner of the Zonalny brigade of AltSU in 1987. "Our youth, our best years are connected with this village! It was there that we built a whole street of houses. We visited it, all the houses are still there, people live there, despite the fact that they were built almost 40 years ago. Based on the results of work in this village in 1986, the SCB “Skif” was recognized as the best student team in entire Altai Krai, so it was very emotional. We received many words of gratitude for the fact that we remember this village. We got a desire to visit it again. I would like the projects of the veterans' club to continue its activity in the future, acquiring a new meaning."

The program of the visit included a friendly volleyball and basketball matches, patronage assistance to the elderly, and career guidance for high school students. Sergey Usoltsev, Head of the Department of World History, and Anton Nikiforenko, Chairman of the Veterans Club of Altai State University Student Teams, spoke about Altai State University and the opportunities that its students have, and also gave a lecture about well-known fellow countrymen from our region, Altai State University graduates.

In the evening, a concert was held for the residents of the village, at which the Club of Veterans of Altai State University, the rock group "GENneral rehearsal" and veterans of the SCB "Skif" performed. The concert made a huge impression on the audience, because the origins of the birth of the group "GENeral rehearsal" are also connected with the village of Vylkovo. Among the audience were those who performed with them on the same stage about 40 years ago.

"The program “Back to Basics” is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Altai State University and the 50th anniversary of the SCB “Skif”. We are confident that such projects will become traditional, and there will be more events linking generations of young members and veterans,” shared Victoria Karyugina, commissioner of the Headquarters of Labor Affairs of Altai State University.

It is worth noting that this year the village of Vylkovo celebrates its 260th anniversary.
