Language in Multicultural Space | Master's Degree Program | Altai State University

The program is designed for international students who want to master the Russian language and become a specialist in intercultural communication. Courses are taught by respected doctors and candidates of philology, who are able not only to explain all the subtleties of the Russian language and culture, but also to make them natural and understandable to everyone. The main activities of the program graduates are: teaching in the field of teaching Russian as a foreign language in educational organizations of preschool, primary general, basic general and secondary general education; research activities within the framework of philological and linguistic research in the multicultural space; translation activities. Upon completion of the program the students get a master's degree in philology and a state diploma.

Special disciplines that build pedagogical and research competencies are taught, including: "Theory and Methodology of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language"; "Methodology of Teaching Historical and Cultural Disciplines for Foreigners"; "Russian Language and Culture of Russia"; "Regional Linguoculturology"; "Methodology of Scientific Research"; "Applied Linguistics", etc.

In the course of their studies, undergraduates become familiar with the rules of organization and preparation of test materials and the state procedure of testing for various levels of Russian as a foreign language proficiency.

Career opportunities and graduates

After finishing their master's degree, graduates are able to conduct high-quality scientific linguistic and philological research in the field of intercultural communication, as well as a high-level teaching activity in organizations of different levels of education in philological disciplines (modules) in the field of oral and written communication in Russian.

Practical spheres of application of the knowledge received on the master's program "Language in the multicultural space" are: research work in research and educational institutions, as well as teaching Russian language in foreign countries (Mongolia, China, Central Asia, etc.).
