Programs

  • Medical Physics
  • Modern Functional Materials

The program is aimed at training specialists of the highest qualification in the field of modern physics. The qualification possibilities of the graduate are acquired as a result of training based on a harmonious combination of intensive fundamental training of students in mathematics, theoretical and experimental physics, digital and IT-technologies in professional activities and special training of students with their gradual inclusion in real research work (R&D). The program includes a set of sections of applied physics, which deals with physical laws, phenomena, processes and their characteristics as applied to the solution of professional problems. On the basis of the acquired knowledge students form the quality to compete in the market of ideas and technologies, as well as the ability to independently improve their general educational and special level of knowledge, including when changing the type of professional activity.

Program "Modern Functional Materials"

"Functional materials" are materials possessing a certain level of physical, chemical and mechanical properties, which together provide the use of these materials as a working element or part in a particular device, apparatus or design. Scientific developments in the field of modern functional materials open up new opportunities for the development of information technology, energy, medicine, chemical and metallurgical industry, aerospace and transportation systems and such areas as agriculture, textiles, recreation, sports, nanophotonics, metamaterials, spintronics and much more, which we do not even guess about now. But even this is not all, if we take into consideration that development of nanotechnology has recently become a scientific and state priority for our country. The key element of the latter is nanomaterials, the materials whose functional properties are determined by nanostructure. New generations of this class of modern functional materials, affect practically all fields of human activity. Nanotechnology is currently the main megaproject in science and practice, to a greater extent than information and biotechnology and is the basis for the development of NBICS-technology, (nanotechnology, biotechnology, information technology, interdisciplinarity, convergence).

The objects of professional activity of bachelors are a wide range of various functional and structural materials, technologies of their production and characterization methods.

The graduate is prepared for the following activities:

  • operation of modern laboratory equipment and instruments according to qualification;
  • development and creation of materials for different fields of science and technology;
  • research with modern methods of analysis of composition, structure and properties of materials;
  • physical examination, resource saving, industrial waste application, monitoring and ecological problems of functional materials production, reduction of harmful emissions.
  • Continuation of the education in magistracy;
  • Independent increase of own educational and professional level of knowledge in case of change of professional activity direction.

What training you get

The educational program orientates the graduates to conduct fundamental and applied research of exploratory, theoretical and experimental character in the field of physics, astrophysics, physical materials science, applications of physical methods in medical research. In the course of their studies, students will be taught:

To be a professional physicist, including a professional in materials physics, means to be in demand in the job market. To do this, one must learn the fundamental basic physics courses, complete a laboratory practicum in general physics, master theoretical physics courses, and finally, study special courses that form professional competencies.
In conjunction with the Altai Krai Diagnostic Center, the course "Physical Fundamentals of Radiation Therapy" is taught. Students study various methods of ultrasound diagnostics and work with the equipment of "Department of functional diagnostics of diseases of cardiovascular and respiratory systems".
On the basis of Altai Krai Oncologic Dispensary the course "Special Practice in Medical Physics" is taught, the students get the educational and industrial practice and have the access to the unique medical equipment, and after getting the diploma they have big perspectives of employment directly in their profile
