Training of landscape architects at Altai State University includes studying modern technologies of creation of landscape objects of the urban environment. Students master the basic style directions of landscape architecture, basics of engineering and surveying, methods of landscape design, get acquainted with the assortment of perennial ornamental plants and methods of care for them. - The versatility of the profession "landscape architect" allows graduates to realize the talent of leader, designer, artist in working on projects of volumetric-spatial organization of territories of cities, natural parks and tourist areas.
- Students of the direction "Landscape architecture" study natural landscapes under the guidance of doctors and candidates of geographical and biological sciences, including during summer trips. They learn about the peculiarities of growing ornamental plants from the staff of the M.A. Lisavenko Research Institute of Siberia, candidates of agricultural sciences. Skills in design, painting, graphics are formed by candidates of art history and members of the Union of Designers of Russia. Urban planning and landscape architecture are taught by architects, specialists who have headed departments of architecture, departments of landscaping and beautification of cities in Siberia.
