Eurasian School of Public Policy and International Relations was held on 24–25 February on the premises of Siberian Institute of Management, which is also a branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. Altai State University was represented there by head of the Department of World History and International Relations, Professor Yu.G. Chernyshov.

He delivered a report on the experience in trans-border regions research, where he touched upon the problem of trans-border cooperation through the example of the Great Altai. In particular, he dwelled on the aspects of the region’s image and the evolution of its role on the territory of Eurasia. Altai is located on the “crossroad of civilizations”. This fact could help it become an important part of intercultural dialogue and trans-border cooperation development in future.

Yuriy G. Chernyshov also shared the details of the Winter School, conferences and seminars conducted at ASU during the last year. The recital of the active role-playing game between young scientists from Russia and Kazakhstan made the audience smile. All in all, the cooperation between the university and Central Asian countries in education was enhanced in the course of the event.
