Altai State University began cooperating with IBM

Last week employees of Altai State University met with CEO of IBM East Europe/Asia Andrey V. Filatov.

IBM is a major international company. It manufactures hardware and software, offers hosting and consulting services. Currently, the company is exploring new directions for development and establishing cooperation with Russian leading regional universities.

In the course of the meeting Andrey V. Filatov touched upon the company’s new initiatives that could be interesting for students. In particular, IBM supports start-ups by providing Bluemix platform and financing the breakthrough developments.

“We will subject the projects created by ASU young scientists and students for IBM specialists’ consideration for the purpose of further financing and promotion. Another line of cooperation is an opportunity for ASU students to undertake an internship in this company,” noted Head of ASU IT Department Mikhail A. Ryazanov. “We had a productive meeting with Head of IBM East Europe/Asia and identified the interaction areas. Our university is going to use company’s technologies, while IBM is interested in collaboration with us as the region’s leading university.”

CEO of IBM East Europe/Asia Andrey V. Filatov visited Altai State University in the framework of Altai Regional IT Forum, which took place in Barnaul. The forum is one of the largest specialized events in the area of information technologies in the region.
