ASU dormitory construction site is located at the address of Chervonnaya Street 5, Barnaul. The workers have recently set to finishing operations.

The dormitory consists of two buildings. The heating system was launched in building A before the New Year holidays and construction workers started smoothening walls and ceilings and setting up internal partitions made of gypsum and bricks.

As for building B, the interior finish of the 13th floor is drawing towards completion.

“The workers have already vinyl doors, laid ceramic floor tile, installed suspended ceilings and sanitary ware, and almost finished wall tiling, hanging and painting fiberglass wallpaper,” said Head of ASU Office for Construction Work A.V. Koltkov. “Now the workers are going to proceed to finishing operations at other floors of the building B and move down gradually. In short, we have mostly focused on the interior works in this building project.”

Currently, the Municipal Enterprise of Water Supply is installing water supply and waste water disposal systems, so it will soon be possible to launch water services at the dormitory.

The construction workers will have finished 85% of building A cladding, installed parapet flashing and decorative elements by the end of January.

“The slewing crane has almost finished its work scope, so it will be dismantled soon. Its place will be taken by the link building between buildings A and B. Metal load beams, which will be covered with fire-retarding composition, have already been mounted here. We will install the floor panels and assemble the frame of the link building somewhere at the beginning of February,” said A.V. Koltkov.

It is to be reminded that construction of the new dormitory of Altai State University has started a year ago, on 3 December 2015. Photo and video reports have been posted on the Russian version of ASU website every month and clearly demonstrate the amount of work done.
