International Excellence Center in Archaeology will be established at ASU

On 31 January 2017 ASU Rector Sergey V. Zemlyukov delivered a report on the work of Altai State University in 2016. He summarized the results of the year and told the audience about the plans for 2017.

Thus, Sergey V. Zemlyukov shared an idea to establish International Excellence Center in Archaeology on the premises of Altai State University.

“A team of our scientists supervised by Chief Research Officer at the Institute for Archaeology and Ethnography of SB RAS, Doctor of History, Professor Anatoly P. Derevyanko has won a mega grant. So now we have a major objective facing us to create International Excellence Center in Archaeology. We already possess a significant base in the form of scientists and modern laboratory equipment,” said ASU Rector.

According to Sergey V. Zemlyukov, the center structure will include several laboratories that already exist and work at the university. The center is supposed to carry out interdisciplinary research mostly.
