Research team supervised by Doctor of Biology, Professor Roman V. Yakovlev has strengthened the relationship with colleagues from Shihezi University (Xinjiang, China) in the recent years. Thus, three articles co-authored by Dr. Liusheng Chen have already been published in prestigious academic periodicals.

The scientific papers are dedicated to systematic reviews of Noctuidae and Cossidae, as well as new discoveries of Chinese fauna:

  • Volynkin A.V., Saldaitis A., Chen L. 2016. Description of the female of Catocala toropovi Saldaitis et al. 2014 (Lepidoptera, Erebidae) // Zootaxa.
  • Volynkin A.V., Matov A.Yu., Chen L. 2016. Some taxonomic notes on the Caradrina (Eremodrina) filipjevi (Boursin, 1936) species group (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae) // Zootaxa.
  • Chen L., Yakovlev R. 2017. New and rare Cossidae and Lycaenidae (Lepidoptera) for the Chinese fauna // Entomologist's Gazette.

Experts of Altai State University continue studying collections of Shihezi University. They are also planning to start on an expedition to Northwestern China, which means that effective cooperation in the form pf joint publications will continue to develop.

The articles have been published in prestigious foreign journals – Zootaxa (New Zealand) and Entomologist’s Gazette (Great Britain). Both of them are listed in Scopus and Web of Science citation bases.
