Altai Ski Marathon with the distance of 50 kilometers took place in Altaiskoye Village on 5 March 2017. The event hosted over 1,500 skiers including Russian and foreign students of Altai State University.

Yuri Yermakov (Faculty of Mathematics and IT), Mikhail Yermakov (Faculty of Physics and Technology), Nursultan Omurbekov (Faculty of Geography) and Ulan Omrali (Faculty of Geography) participated in one of the most interesting winter sport events in Altai Krai.

Altai Ski Marathon was held on a biathlon track located in picturesque Altai foothill zone. The track had a lot of slopes and serpentines, which made skiing more difficult. ASU students literally had to jump over the fallen skiers in some sections of the track. Nevertheless they enjoyed speed skiing.

The foreign students were especially impressed by the beauty of Altai Mountains. Nursultan and Ulan even said that they would certainly tell their relatives and friends about Altai Ski Marathon and fine nature when they came back home.
