In August, Altai State University obtained a patent for in vitro clonal micropropagation of varietal hops. It is reported by the Innovation portal of Altai Krai.

This is about the development of scientists from the Altai Center for Applied Biotechnology of AltSU.

The patented invention relates to the field of agricultural biotechnology, in particular, to propagation methods and can be used to obtain high-quality planting material.

The invention makes it possible to increase the multiplication factor in a single passage, to increase the duration of cultivation (number of successive passages) with a high multiplication factor, to improve the quality and viability of regenerated plants during long-term subcultivation.

The team of authors, consisting of representatives of the scientific community and business, deals with issues of agricultural biotechnology, physiology and biochemistry, phytopharmacology, genetics and breeding, and plant cytogenetics.
