Representatives of leading universities discussed effective partnership in the Russian-Asian educational space at the Altai-Asia 2022 forum

The second expert session of the V International Educational Forum "Altai - Asia 2022: Eurasian Educational Space - New Challenges and Best Practices" was devoted to the main trends in the networking of universities in the Russian-Asian scientific and educational space. Experts discussed best practices and interesting cases.

The moderators of the session were Larisa Efremova, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, and Evgenia Zhdanova, First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Altai State University. Among the speakers were representatives of leading Russian universities.

Artem Rykun, Vice-Rector for International Relations of the National Research Tomsk State University, in his presentation shared the experience of interaction with Asian countries. For example, TSU is actively developing social networks in Chinese (Wechat, Weibo). This allows potential applicants from China to get acquainted with the life of the university. The university also often organizes meetings with parents of students from Southeast Asia.

Experts from the Ural Federal University - Vice-Rector for Master's Degree Development Natalya Andreichenko and Director of the School of Professional Academic Education Andrey Sozykin - prepared a report on the topic "Is there life in the network: practical cases and regulatory barriers."

Vera Skorobogatova, Executive Director of the Competence Center for International Services of Educational Organizations of the RANEPA, in her report raised the problem of the need to simplify the procedures for admission and recognition of education for foreign applicants. The expert emphasized that a set of measures is needed to improve legislation to simplify the procedure and reduce redundant document requirements. She cited the example of Armenia, where graduation certificates this year are issued exclusively in the electronic version. This simplifies the workflow and increases accountability.

Vera Skorobogatova also noted that the promotion, dissemination and scaling of the practice of implementing double degree programs, the creation of joint educational institutions of higher education with foreign states in their territories, the organization of joint preparatory courses, the opening of branches of Russian educational institutions of higher education abroad are becoming relevant.

The experience of Altai State University in the development and implementation of master's network educational programs with universities in the countries of the Greater Altai and Central Asia was shared by Deputy First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Altai State University Olga Krainik.

In her presentation, she spoke about the features of the development of a joint curriculum, the modular principles of building the basic professional educational program of higher education, the features of intermediate assessments, and the use of digital educational content.

Alla Mazina, Deputy Head of the International Education Department of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, spoke about the effect of opening the Joint Engineering Institute of SPbPU and Jiangsu Pedagogical University.

As part of the discussion at the end of the session, experts and participants discussed many issues of networking and worked out the most interesting cases in detail.
