Managers from Altai State University are trained under a program for developing professional competencies in the field of education and youth policy. The face-to-face part of the program took place on October 4–6 at Tomsk Polytechnic University. The participants of the forum were vice-rectors for youth policy and educational work, department specialists and teacher-curators interacting with students.

Altai State University was represented by Tatyana Antonenko, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Additional Education, Alina Bushueva, Head of the Department of Youth Policy and Educational Work, Anastasia Nazarova, Head of the Department of Educational and Extracurricular Work, Ksenia Pozharskaya, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Relations for Extracurricular and Educational work.

“I really liked the program. The roadmap presented by the organizers turned out to be very useful – it will help you create your own unique educational program at the university. We will implement youth policy at the university based not only on the recommendations of federal authorities, but also taking into account the opinions of students,” shared Tatyana Antonenko, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Additional Education at Altai State University.

Together with the organizers and specialists, the program participants studied a research-constructive approach to educational activities, and also exchanged experience with representatives of other universities in the Siberian Federal District.

“Many interesting practices, new experiences, discoveries and reflections, which will certainly be followed by new projects. For me, the most significant thing in this educational module was the joint work with students, as a result of which we came to the decision that the plan of events at the university should be created and adjusted taking into account the opinions of students, and some of the events could be implemented by the students themselves. Further interaction will be built on this foundation,” shared Alina Bushueva, Head of the Department of Youth Policy and Educational Work.

The main experts and speakers of the program were Olga Skryabina, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy of Kostroma State University, and Sergei Gil, scientific supervisor of the Master of Education program.

“For me personally, the Master of Education program was the first advanced training program to develop competencies in the field of educational activities. I found the organizers’ approach to training interesting: abandoning theoretical classes and emphasizing training and interactive forms. The courses had a friendly atmosphere of co-creation, and communication with colleagues was extremely pleasant. The specific practices proposed by the authors of the program are quite applicable to life and require testing at our university,” Ksenia Pozharskaya, Deputy Director for Extracurricular and Educational Work, spoke about her impressions.

Altai State University was the only university to represent Altai Krai at the advanced training program.
