"One of the main conditions for the opening of HSC is its organization and work on the basis of a flagship university in the region, ready to co-finance regional education programs. It is here that schoolchildren who have a desire to engage in research activities will be able to work in tandem with mentors from among well-known scientists in the country and abroad. This is a kind of the first stage in the integration of children into the leading scientific schools operating in the region and, in particular, at Altai State University. Thus, at Altai State University, a wide scope opens up for children to combine their school knowledge with competencies in various fields of scientific activity that they can get in the House of Scientific Collaboration", explained the Minister of Education and Science of Altai Krai Maxim Kostenko, noting that in the future, HSC will be included in a unified network program for the development of talented children and youth in Altai Krai.

The institution that has opened at Altai State University will be able to teach 400 students of grades 5-11, as well as teachers wishing to improve their qualifications. The center has prepared additional general developmental programs of technical and natural science orientation, allowing to build modern competencies, primary skills of project management, and teamwork using information resources.

"One of the important parts of the development program of the flagship Altai State University is work with talented youth”, said Rector of Altai State University Sergei Bocharov during the opening of HSC. “We are preparing talented guys who are the future of Russian science. Of course, a considerable number of them leave to study and live in large cities of Russia, but by opening the House of Scientific Collaboration at Altai State University, we want to show that in Altai Krai you can get a good education, develop yourself as a scientist, and develop your home region".

Sergey Bocharov recalled that Altai State University has developed a program to support talented youth, with the aim of keeping them in Altai Krai. This is a series of measures, including increased scholarships, thanks to which a large number of Olympiad winners have been admitted to Altai State University for several years. In 2020, these are 26 winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian Olympiads for schoolchildren - the fourth result in Siberia.

"Graduates of the House of Scientific Collaborations will be awarded certificates, and upon admission to Altai State University, additional points will be provided for them, which, of course, will help schoolchildren to enter the educational programs of the flagship university they are interested in", said the Rector of Altai State University.
