On February 16, the Russian Science Foundation summed up the results of a grant competition.

Among the winners of the Presidential program of research projects implemented by leading scientists in the competition "Conducting research on the basis of the existing world-class scientific infrastructure" and the project of the scientist of Altai State University, a well-known astrophysicist, professor, Head of the Department of Radiophysics and Theoretical Physics of the Institute of Digital Technologies, Electronics and Physics Anatoly Lagutin.

The project is called "Energy Spectra and Mass Composition of Cosmic Rays by the Data of TAIGA Astrophysical Complex: Development of New Methods and Reconstruction Techniques". It will make it possible to achieve progress in solving the fundamental problem of astrophysics and cosmology - the problem of the origin of ultrahigh-energy and ultra-high-energy cosmic rays.

It should be noted that Altai State University is one of the leading Russian research centers in the field of high-energy cosmic ray astrophysics. A group of AltSU astrophysicists led by Professor Anatoly Lagutin is a member of the TAIGA international collaboration. Leading events in this scientific field were held at our university: the 26th Extended European Cosmic Ray Symposium (26th E+CRS) and the 35th All-Russian Conference on Cosmic Rays (35th RCRC), which brought together experts from all over the world.
