Summer School for international students "Dialogue of Cultures" was held at AltSU

On Friday, June 9, the Summer School for International Students "Dialogue of Cultures" was held on the basis of Krasilovo's educational practices, timed to coincide with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Altai State University. More than 100 people attended the school.

The event was organized by the International Affairs Department, the Association of International Students (AIST), the Coordination Center for the formation of an active citizenship among young people, the prevention of interethnic and interfaith conflicts, countering the ideology of terrorism and the prevention of extremism, the Department of Educational and Extracurricular Work, the League of Students of Altai State University.

The program of the event was quite intense and included various blocks: the quest “Happy Birthday, beloved university!”, the discussion platform “Open dialogue: terrorism and personal security”, the training seminar “No to extremism among young people!”, the quiz “Know and follow the rules of the migration legislation of the Russian Federation!”, coordination meeting of the Association of Foreign Students “Aist”, team sports competitions “Many Faces of Asia.”

“The traditional summer school for international students “Dialogue of Cultures” is being held at the end of the academic year for the fifth time,” said Mikhail Domukhovsky, Head of the International Affairs Department. "This year the school program is dedicated to the special occasion: the 50th anniversary of Alma Mater. The program of events turned out to be quite rich, it included various activities for team building. Also, within the framework of the school program, issues of countering extremism, terrorism, and violations of the migration legislation of the Russian Federation were worked out.”

The results of the activities of the Association of International Students (AIST) for the 2022/2023 academic year were also summed up.

“The program of the summer school for international students “Dialogue of Cultures” was filled with various cognitive and active events,” shared Alexandra Pinaeva, coordinator of the Association of International Students (AIST). "One of the main goals of the trip is to sum up the results of the past academic year, to reward the activists of the Association of Foreign Students (AIST). We are glad that by the end of the year we have had more and more participants of AIST, because on the basis of the Association the guys can improve their intercultural communication skills, find new friends and help new international students adapt to our university.”

Students from near and far abroad showed a keen interest in the topics of the Summer School, took an active part in all stages of the program:

“I did not expect that this event would become one of the best memories of Barnaul. I liked all the activities that were at the school of activists. It was a great opportunity to interact with students from different countries. Thanks to the organizers of the event and, above all, special thanks to the International Affairs Department of Altai State University. Looking forward to the school of activists next year!”

Azizjon Nurulloev, Tajikistan, student of MIEMIS:

“I was glad to go to a wonderful place with wonderful people, and for me every moment was unforgettable. With all my heart I would like to thank the organizers for giving us such emotions! I will be glad to participate in other events of our university. Thank you for everything!"

The students expressed their desire to take part in the event every year and next year to expand the summer school program to two full days.
