The catering plant of Altai State University traditionally opens accepting orders for baking Easter cakes before Orthodox Easter. This year, confectioners improved the composition of the dough and developed a new decorative design for holiday Easter cakes.

Followers of traditions will enjoy cakes made from yeast dough with candied fruits. This year, new natural ingredients have been added to the recipe, thanks to which the Easter cakes have become softer, juicier, and with a rich, creamy taste. For several years now, yeast-free Easter cakes have been in great demand. They have a more delicate texture with candied fruits inside. The confectioners put all their skills into decorating the Easter cakes – in addition to traditional fudge, the baked goods are decorated with images of chickens, flowers, and willow branches made from protein cream. There will also be the usual colored sprinkles with candied fruits.

“Last year, about 600 Easter cakes were sold, our baked goods are in demand. We also have regular customers who, having once tasted Easter cakes from our confectioners, keep coming to us every year, they order 8, 10, or 12 Easter cakes for the whole family at once. I tried Easter cakes at different retail outlets in the city, but ours are warmer, more filling, and tastier,” noted Lyubov Glushko, Head of the Department for the implementation of commercial projects and social programs at Altai State University.

Traditionally, a few days before Easter (from April 11 to 14), Easter cakes will be available for free sale in the canteens and buffets at Altai State University and its college.
