On February 9, an important event for the development of the media sphere of the university took place at Altai State University: Altai State University and Altai State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company signed an agreement on mutual cooperation.

The document was signed by Rector of Altai State University Sergey Bocharov and Director of the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company "Altai" Oleg Govorshchenko. The agreement on mutual cooperation will allow the development of digital projects in the field of media communications, students and teachers to meet with practitioners of the media sphere more often, exchange experience and apply the knowledge gained on the platform of the innovative youth media community "MediaHub."

MediaHub was launched at the Institute of Humanities of Altai State University in 2022 thanks to the Priority 2030 project and has become a place of attraction for talented young people who seek to develop themselves in the media sphere. The most modern digital equipment, experienced teachers allow students to create unique content, edit videos, record podcasts, and design.

Oleg Govorshchenko has long been familiar with Altai State University, in the 2000s he taught at the then-former Faculty of Journalism and recalls how Altai State University launched its own radio station, how students looked with admiration at professional video cameras and dreamed that they would be given at least an hour work with them. In those years, it was really difficult to find equipment. Today, the university, thanks to participation in federal programs, has acquired for its students one of the most modern video recording studios, Jalinga. It allows to create cool content, add special effects, graphics to videos, project pictures right during recording. Oleg Govorshchenko was pleasantly surprised by the equipment of AltSU media laboratories, he even tried to record a short backstage at the Jalinga studio. Also, the Director of the GTRK "Altai" together with Rector of Altai State University Sergey Bocharov visited the renovated TV and radio studio and talked with the students.

Oleg Govorshchenko noted:

“I was convinced that today Altai State University has one of the best equipped media platforms in Siberia. With this technique, you can do any creative task. The agreement that we signed is valuable in that it implies closer cooperation with AltSU, with this document we start a creative collaboration.

AltSU Rector Sergey Bocharov emphasized:

- AltSU has had the TV and radio studio for many years, but we understand that technologies are changing and we wanted to give a new impetus to our media projects. This impetus was the project of the youth media community “MediaHub.” We have the most modern equipment and we are confident that such a platform will allow students to develop their media competencies.

It should be noted that at the end of 2022, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation decided to create a regional youth media center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation on the basis of MediaHub.

After the signing of the agreement, the participants of the meeting discussed the already planned joint projects. This includes the creation of a film for the anniversary of the university, joint competitions for talented schoolchildren and students.

The discussion was attended by Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation and Media Communications of Altai State University Maxim Gerasimyuk, Director of the Institute for the Humanities Larisa Nekhvyadovich, Head of the Department of Theory and Practice of Journalism Elena Lukashevich, Head of the Department of Media Communications Alla Kovaleva, and Director of MediaHub Ekaterina Valyulina.
