Altai State University is a participant in the III Forum of University Rectors of Kyrgyzstan and Russia

On October 13, the III Forum of Rectors of Universities of Kyrgyzstan and Russia was held in the city of Osh on the platform of Osh State University. The forum was attended by Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov, Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, and representatives of leading universities of the two countries. A detailed discussion took place on the main vectors of cooperation in the educational and scientific spheres, joint training and integration of the education systems of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, as well as within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

In particular, they discussed promising projects on academic mobility of students and teachers, development and implementation of joint higher education programs, research activities, advanced training and professional retraining of personnel, organization of youth forums, summer and winter schools.

Roman Raikin, Vice-Rector for International Affairs Development, represented AltSU at the forum. In his report “The experience of Altai State University in network interaction with universities of Kyrgyzstan and the EAEU countries” within the framework of the first panel session “Training personnel for the development of the EAEU economy”, Roman Raikin talked about the infrastructure of network cooperation in the EAEU space, in the creation of which Altai State University took part over the past years. These are the Association of Asian Universities, the REC “The Greater Altai”, and joint research and educational centers that have been created by Altai State University on the basis of leading partner universities in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

As part of the forum, Roman Raikin visited the International Research Center for Cultural Anthropology, created by Altai State University on the basis of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University named after Batyrali Sydykov, and also held meetings with historians and ethnographers from Osh State University who take part in organizing joint expeditions within the framework of the REC “The Greater Altai”.

Let us recall that the first forum of university rectors of the two states took place in March 2019 in Bishkek during the state visit of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The second was on June 8, 2022 in Yekaterinburg within the framework of the 9th Russian-Kyrgyz interregional conference on the basis of the Ural Federal University.

Also, from October 11 to 12, ceremonial events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B.N. Yeltsin were held in Bishkek. As part of the busy program, there was an exhibition “The Slavic University is more than a university”, a competition of design projects for the new campus of KRSU, conferences, panel discussions, a media forum and, of course, a festive concert.

Roman Raikin took part in the ceremony and read out a congratulation from Rector of AltSU Sergei Bocharov to the leadership and staff of KRSU, one of the main international partners of Altai State University. During the meeting with Acting Rector of KRSU Denis Fomin-Nilov, the prospects for the development of cooperation in the near future were discussed.
