From digital journalism to interior design: more than 10 popular FVE programs AltSU offers for free

Altai State University continues to participate in the Employment Assistance program of the Demography national project.

In 2022, the Russian Government extended the free retraining programs for citizens in the most demanded professions for another two years. They are implemented within the framework of the federal project "Promotion of Employment" of the national project "Demography". To date, Altai State University offers 13 such FVE programs, the list is constantly updated.

“Altai State University has been participating in the Employment Assistance program from the very beginning and provides an opportunity for residents of the region to study popular courses for free. This, in turn, allows the region to solve acute social problems. Now the university is recruiting for 13 programs within the framework of the Employment Assistance project, but every month we can offer new programs to the federal operator. So, now another 10 have been submitted for approval,” said Alexander Skovorodnikov, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Additional Education.

Today, Altai State University offers 13 programs as part of the program:

• Educational psychologist;
• Chemistry education in a modern school;
• Theory and methods of teaching mathematics in a modern school;
• Pedagogy of school and vocational education;
• Interior designer;
• Graphic designer;
• Library and information activities;
• Social work in the system of social services;
• Child protective services specialist;
• Speech therapy. Correction of speech disorders in children of preschool and primary school age;
• Digital journalist in modern media;
• Records creation and archiving;
• Applied programming in Python.

79 people have already applied for training, and every day the number of those wishing to acquire new competencies is growing.
Free retraining or additional vocational education is available to:

• Citizens aged 50 and older, citizens of pre-retirement age;
• Women who are on maternity leave until a child reaches the age of 3 years;
• Women who are not in an employment relationship and have children aged 0-7;
• Unemployed citizens registered with the employment service;
• Employees at risk of dismissal, including the introduction of a part-time work regime, downtime, temporary suspension of work, the provision of unpaid leave, the implementation of measures to release employees;
• Citizens of Ukraine and stateless persons permanently residing on the territory of Ukraine who have received a refugee certificate or a certificate of temporary asylum on the territory of the Russian Federation;
• Youth under the age of 35 who belong to certain categories of citizens.

Registration for AltSU programs is open on the Job of Russia portal.
In 2022, more than 60 programs were implemented at AltSU, 168 people were trained. The most demanded programs were "Social work in the system of social services". "Educational psychologist", and the unique program "Interior Designer", not presented in other partner universities of the project.
