Faculty of Law and International Institute of Economics, Management and Informational Systems took part in international forum

Modern educational system provides great opportunities for international academic mobility for both students and university lecturers. They can participate in all kinds of events: from short-term internships and international conferences to joint science and research projects and long-term educational courses. One of the most popular formats of academic mobility is attending international conferences and forums, as it allows extending cooperation with partners and exchanging experience and knowledge.

International forum called “Building up bridges between countries in intercultural space” took place on 11–15 April 2016 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The event organizer was ASU long-standing partner – Turar Ryskulov New Economic University, which has been renamed into Narxoz University in April 2016. The university was established in 1963 and has been one of the best Soviet economic universities since. Currently, Narxoz is aiming at becoming one of the leading innovative universities of Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

The forum hosted representatives of academic and business society from more than 20 countries with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Switzerland, Great Britain, the United States of America, Spain, Czech Republic, Italy, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Latvia, France, Japan, Korea, Georgia and others. The participants also included Altai State University team consisting of students and lecturers of Faculty of Law and International Institute of Economics, Management and Informational Systems.

The forum’s main purpose was the creation of international discussion site, which would result in growth of academic cooperation between universities and business organizations, and studying the prospects for international education and intercultural communication.

ASU representatives assumed the event to be useful and effective. The organizers provided the participants with the wide variety of communication formats: open seminars, masterclasses, science conferences, discussion sites. ASU students delivered their reports at the student conference successfully, introduced the university honorably and found a lot of new friend from different countries of the world. The majority of Altai students even decided to take a course in Narxoz next year. As for the lecturers, they managed to use the opportunity to share their experience, discuss the topical issues in education, and establish a great number of new professional contacts for further joint scientific and educational projects realization.
