18 July 2023 Institute of Humanities

On July 17, 100 schoolchildren, participants of the "University Shift" from the Lugansk People's Republic, who arrived at Altai State University, got acquainted with a number of creative educational and cultural areas of the Institute of Humanities.

Ksenia Melekhova, Deputy Director for Student Enrollment, Recruitment and Employment of Altai State University, welcoming schoolchildren, noted that the Institute of Humanities is the largest institute of Altai State University with more than 4,000 students, more than 50 areas of training, and 100 innovative educational programs, as well as more than 100 programs of additional professional education.

“You have already got acquainted with Altai Krai and part of the scientific and educational areas of our university, having received a lot of different impressions. Well, since today it is time to get acquainted with the Institute of Humanities, the most creative and rich in various educational trajectories, we decided to make the format of this meeting special for you – interactive, with everyone immersing themselves in the forms offered by the discipline,” addressed the schoolchildren Director of IH of AltSU, Doctor of Art Critisism, Professor Larisa Nekhvyadovich. “Since many of you are already graduating from school, I am inviting you to become part of our large Institute, where talented and promising students study, because we provide not only fundamental classical knowledge in the field of the humanities, but also actively use all the richness of the digital possibilities of modern education, both in art and psychology, as well as in journalism, PR and design.”

For Lugansk schoolchildren, four playgrounds were organized by teachers and specialists of the IH. In front of the entrance to the Universum Gallery, a plein air was organized under the guidance of Head of the gallery, an associate professor of the Department of Arts, Candidate of Art Criticism Elena Rusakovich. Galina Zvorygina, Director of regional and city events, deputy director of the IH for creative activities, Head of the theater-studio "Living Word" held a master class on self-presentation for schoolchildren in the concert hall of Altai State University. Students of the Department of Media Communications, Advertising Technologies and Public Relations within the framework of the School of Media demonstrated how to shoot videos for social networks, and Vladimir Yarnykh, an associate professor of the Department of Cultural Studies and Design, art director of a full-cycle digital studio, shared with schoolchildren from Luhansk his knowledge about the art of blogging.

“Very interesting and instructive events. I have not yet decided where I will go to study after school, but those humanitarian areas that we learned about during the meeting definitely interested me. As a child, like many others, I was fond of drawing, and here in the open air I realized that I have certain abilities in this direction. My efforts were appreciated. In a word, many thanks to the organizers for the creativity!” shared her impressions a pupil of the Lugansk educational complex "Intellect" Sofia Saenko.

“I was especially impressed by the work in the open air. Here you can express yourself as much as possible on paper. Only nature, clear sky and your drawing. I also liked the classes with the theater studio. The girls offered us to do exercises to warm up the muscles of the face and body, after which we felt relaxed and light, it helped to better express ourselves. Of course, we will have a lot of impressions from this trip, including these master classes,” said Arina Doroshenko, a student of Lugansk Secondary School No. 17 named after Valery Brumel.

Recall that this summer Altai State University joined the project "University Shifts" for the children of Lugansk and Donbass.

A joint project of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation was created so that teenagers from the LPR and DPR get acquainted with the culture and history of the country's regions, and high school students get as much information as possible about leading Russian universities.

Altai State University is the only university hosting "University shifts" in Altai Krai in 2023. 100 schoolchildren aged 14-17 from the Luhansk People's Republic arrived in Barnaul on July 8 and were accommodated in the most modern campus of Altai State University – Univer City.
