The 2nd general meeting of Asian Universities Association has been opened today at ASU

Today, 23 June, the 2nd general meeting of Asian Universities Association has begun its work at Altai State University. The participants include the universities of 8 world’s countries: Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan and Thailand. Representatives of Saitama University have come to the forum as guests.

The first day of the meeting will start at 4 p.m. with the Association’s expert session, where the participants are to discuss the issues of academic mobility development, implementation of joint educational programs in Association’s universities, future modernization of Central Asian countries’ national educational systems, consider the main directions and results of Asian Expert-Analytical Center of Ethnology and International Educational Cooperation work, etc.

There are also questions on establishing the Youth Council under Asian Universities Association and conducting the Asian Student Forum in 2017 on the agenda.

At 6 p.m. the first day will continue with the orientation meeting for the heads and representatives of educational establishments, where they will discuss several organizational issues and the draft resolution of the general meeting of Asian Universities Association.

On Friday, 24 June, ASU will host the opening ceremony of the 2nd general meeting of Asian Universities Association at 9 a.m. in ASU Academic Board Hall. The ceremony will be continued with plenary session and report by Association president, ASU Rector Sergey V. Zemlyukov, who will touch upon the results of Association’s work and the strategy of its development.

Within the 3 years of work, the Association of Asian Universities has proved itself to be one of the most dynamically developing international university organizations. Currently, the organization members include 36 higher education establishments.
