ASU Representation Center was opened on the premises of Russian Cultural Center in Kyrgyzstan.

Specialists of ASU Department of Enrollment and Employment, Admission Board and International Affairs Department made an official visit to Bishkek and Karakol on the delegation of Altai Krai. About 160 pupils of 11th form participated in the meetings.

Head of the Department of Enrollment and Employment Elena N. Goncharova emphasized that Kyrgyzstan was a strategically important partner for Altai State University, because Russia strengthens relationships with this country and Kyrgyz school graduates often take their interest in applying to Russian universities.

“We worked under the support of Russian Cultural Center in Kyrgyzstan. It is headed by Alexander V. Stepanyuk. He helped us to carry out grand-scale preparatory work with schools, to organize sites for the meetings. Thus, in Karakol we conducted a competition in physics and mathematics on the premises of T. Satylganov Lyceum, where even some pupils from remote regions near Issyk-Kul could come and participate. The pupils are really intelligent and they are willing to receive education in Russia,” noted Elena N. Goncharova. “Over 100 pupils and students took part in the competition, which was organized on the premises of N. Isanov Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transport and Architecture in Bishkek. Some of them even came from other towns and regions of the country.”

One more positive outcome of ASU representatives’ trip has been an agreement for establishment of ASU Representation Center on the premises of Russian Cultural Center.

“Kyrgyzstan pays a lot of attention to education in Russia, it is in great demand. We met with chairman of the People’s Assembly of Kyrgyzstan Tokon Mamytov, who offered us prospects for comprehensive assistance in work with pupils and students of Kyrgyzstan, because Altai Krai is a territory of strategic importance,” said Elena Goncharova.

It remains to be added that organization support to ASU was supplied by Rossotrudnichestvo Representation Office in Kyrgyzstan and authorities of N. Isanov Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transport and Architecture.
