The postgraduate program aims to build competencies in several areas for a young scientist. First, deepening scientific knowledge in history and philosophy of science, theory and methodology of modern psychology, historical and psychological analysis, the problem of personality in psychological science; mastering a foreign language for special purposes; developing ideas about modern tendencies of formation of domestic and foreign psychological science and practice.

Training sessions on disciplines (modules) take the form of lectures, scientific and practical classes, etc. In the course of training, postgraduate students do practical work to prepare a dissertation for the defense for the degree of a candidate of sciences. The practical work helps develop competences in the field of the chosen scientific specialty.

Secondly, the postgraduate program is aimed at improving research skills. Deepening knowledge in the field of general psychology, personality psychology, history of psychology, will allow a graduate student to formulate the actual topic of a dissertation, define the concept of scientific research, theoretical and methodological foundations of the work, build basic strategies for testing scientific assumptions, and choose methods.

During the study on the postgraduate program, the postgraduate student is given the opportunity to take candidacy examinations. The list of postgraduate examinations includes: history and philosophy of science, a foreign language, a special discipline in accordance with the topic of the thesis for the degree of candidate of sciences.

What training you get

The basic components of the graduate program are research activities, educational activities, and final certification.

Research activities are aimed at preparing a dissertation for defense, scientific publications, etc. Educational activities are aimed at preparing for candidacy examinations, doing practical training to prepare a dissertation for the degree of a candidate of sciences.

Mastering of the postgraduate program is carried out according to an individual work plan, which includes an individual plan of scientific activity and an individual training plan. Quality control of postgraduate program is carried out by current monitoring of student progress, interim and final assessment of graduate students.

Career opportunities and graduates

Postgraduate education will allow you to prepare a thesis for the degree of a candidate of sciences for the defense, publish scientific papers required for the thesis defense, study and pass the candidacy examinations in philosophy, a foreign language, and a special discipline.

During the postgraduate studies, students can be employed as a scientific support staff, academic support staff, engineers and technicians, as well as a teaching staff member, and a researcher.

Postraduate students can work as a teacher at the university, defend master's and doctoral dissertations, participate in scientific research of current problems of modern psychology, research competitions, projects, grants, conferences on topical issues of psychological science and practice.
