The Art Gallery «Universum» of the Institute of Humanities of Altai State University opened an exhibition of artworks by amateur artists who are representatives of the Club “Artist. Revival."

Last September, the club, which united people of different professions who are passionate about fine arts, celebrated its 40th anniversary. Over the years, the club was led by members of the Union of Artists of Russia V.A. Zoteev, F.S. Torkhov, and others.

“The aim of professionals such as engineers, teachers, scientists, journalists visiting our club is to enhance art education, foster creative expression and cultivate the desire to share their creations with the public. Our objective is to engage the local community in art exhibitions across various venues in the city and beyond,” explains Nadezhda Mityagina, chairman of the public organization Club “Artist. Revival". “The exhibition in the gallery of the Institute of Humanities of Altai State University revolves around the theme “We say Russia, we mean  – family,” aligning with the national focus for the Year in Russia. This theme, rich and multi-faceted, centers on the pivotal role of family. Each artist, in their own way, tried to reflect this essence in their artworks.”

The works of eleven amateur artists are presented on the first floor of the gallery “Universum”, marking the fifth exhibition of the Club in the coming year and the third in the entire history of cooperation with Altai State University.

“The tradition of promoting the artistic endeavors of amateur artists in our region was laid by the founder of the art gallery “Universum” and the founder of art history in Altai, Doctor of Art History, Professor Tamara Stepanskaya. The Institute of Humanities upholds and nurtures this tradition welcoming people to our gallery who exhibit a genuine passion for art, dedicating their leisure time to it,” emphasized at the opening of the exhibition Head of the Department of Arts of the Institute of Humanities at ASU, Candidate of Art History, an associate professor Irina Chernyaeva.
