The Institute of Humanities of Altai State University hosted a master class “How to create a startup on the international market,” organized as part of the project “Startup: Where to Start from.”

The event attracted over 60 students from the Institute of Humanities, including bachelors and masters from China, Indonesia, Kazakhstan and Russia, who study in the direction of “teacher education” in the profiles “Educational Entrepreneurship”, “Pedagogy of a Modern School”, and “English and Chinese Languages”.

Olga Vysotskaya, Director of the Center for the Development of Technological Entrepreneurship at Altai State University and organizer of the project, shared her insights on current trends in the technology startup markets and highlighted the opportunities available for aspiring technology entrepreneurs. Additionally, Anastasia Vashchilina, a senior lecturer at the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language at Altai State University, assisted foreign students in grasping the nuances of terminology and translation during the master class.

“This master class is a novel initiative for us, since we invited students and master’s students from not only neighboring countries, but also distant regions, which are increasingly becoming crucial strategic partners for Russia. Of course, it is important for us to understand how we can interact in the area of creating joint technology businesses, as well as carry out cross-country transfer of projects and technologies,” Olga Vysotskaya clarified.

During the master class, the students had the opportunity to analyze emerging trends in various technological markets, including education. They were introduced to the tools for analyzing consumer problems and describing the functional properties of an innovative product in the paradigm of the National Technology Initiative – the program of strategic technological leadership of the Russian Federation for the period until 2035.

“The participants provided positive feedback following the master class. Now we invite everyone who is interested in further shaping the trajectory for creating and advancing technology startups to engage in brainstorming sessions aimed at selecting the most interesting and popular ideas in the markets,” noted Director of the Center of Technology and Entrepreneurship Development of Altai State University Olga Vysotskaya.

Marina Tyrina, Deputy Director of the Institute for Master's, Postgraduate, Scientific and Innovative Development at the Institute of Humanities of Altai State University, emphasized the active growth of student technological entrepreneurship, both within the framework of design-technological and design-entrepreneurial practices, and in the course of writing and defending final qualifying works like startups.

“Such projects give students the opportunity to master the culture and mechanisms of entrepreneurial activity in education, as well as learn to develop skills in generating entrepreneurial ideas based on an innovative style of professional and pedagogical thinking, development and implementation of a business plan. Through such initiatives, young people are encouraged to innovate. It equips them with necessary skills to promote educational products and services on the market,” summed up Marina Tyrina.
