Representatives of India discussed joint practice-oriented educational programs with the rector of Altai State University

On July 31, Altai State University welcomed Vice President of the Indo-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Chennai, Managing Director of the engineering company INMA Ltd Guruswami Sundaravadivelu and Secretary General of the Indo-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Chennai, the Indo-Russian Society of Culture and friendship Parimanam Tangappan. Representatives of India had a discussion with AltSU Rector Sergey Bocharov and AltSU Vice-Rector for International Affairs Development Roman Raikin.

Recall that in March 2023, a delegation of Altai State University headed by Rector Sergey Bocharov visited the Republic of India, where they got acquainted with the work of Indian universities and scientific laboratories.

When receiving guests from India at Altai State University, the Rector emphasized that Altai State University has extensive experience in teaching Russian as a foreign language and is glad to accept students from the Republic of India to study both full-time and online courses.

“We know that applicants from India always show interest in medical fields, but as a classical university, we can offer education in such promising and in-demand profiles today as biotechnology, biology, chemistry, IT, economics and many others,” Sergey Bocharov noted. Also, the Rector of AltSU expressed the readiness of the university to recruit students from India for project-oriented educational programs with the participation of industrial partners.

Another topic was the scientific research of AltSU. The university can offer Indian partners economic research in the field of exports and imports.

The meeting participants also discussed the possibility of holding joint online chess tournaments for schoolchildren and students. In India, chess is a very popular sport, and Altai State University maintains strong partnerships with the Chess Federation of Altai Krai, large chess tournaments for students are regularly held at the Altai State University site.
