On November 23, a foresight session “Presidential Program: Challenges of New Times” was held at Altai State University. The event was organized as part of the all-Russian “Management Week”. This year the program celebrates its 25th anniversary.

The foresight session brought together graduates of the Presidential program, representatives of government and the business community. Together they discussed the most pressing problems of the business sphere, considered new ideas, recommendations and proposals for the development of such a unique and large-scale project as a management training program.

Sergei Bocharov, Rector of Altai State University, congratulated the students and organizers of the program on their anniversary. He noted that the Presidential program has been promising and in demand in the real sector of the economy.

— The program is relevant due to several circumstances: firstly, currently we need to manage import substitution. Secondly, to ensure the technological development of the country – to build a successful national business. Trends are making their own adjustments - there is less and less hope for foreign partners. Meanwhile, for business to develop, modern, trained management personnel is of crucial importance. Only universities, having solid experience, can prepare competent leaders. This is why we need a management personnel program. The Presidential Program is the image of the university. The very fact that we are implementing it indicates that the quality of our training is at a high level. In addition, for implementation we involve practitioners - business representatives. This ensures that graduates receive the most up-to-date competencies. They acquire not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical skills. In addition, the program helps the university to develop a partnership network with a number of managers of various enterprises. The university establishes cooperation in the field of education and scientific training, thereby supporting the development of the regional economy.

Head of the Presidential Program of Altai State University, an associate professor of the Department of Economics and Econometrics, Candidate of Economic Sciences Svetlana Balashova notes:

— The curriculum of the Presidential Program was formed on the basis of methodological recommendations for training of specialists in Russian educational organizations and the development of educational programs for implementation within the framework of the state plan for training management personnel for national economic organizations of the Russian Federation. The content of the disciplines and the selection of teaching staff are structured in such a way as to ensure the effective formation and development of competencies in strategic management and management of organizational development in order to meet the needs of students. Not only university teachers participate in the program, we also invite expert practitioners in the field of management, marketing, and law. Their experience makes our program multifaceted and practice-oriented.

The program is in demand among managers and businessmen. More than 70% of projects created by program participants are successfully implemented. For example, not long ago the program added an internship block, which became an integral element of the educational process. It is noteworthy that graduates of the program are very happy to invite current students to their enterprises for internships. For example, recently listeners visited the Bochkarevsky brewery, the Barnaul reinforced concrete products plant and other organizations. It is worth noting that even after training, students of the program remain one team. They organize joint charitable and environmental events, do sports, and help each other. Cooperation turns into friendship.
