New Year's miracle: students and staff from Altai State University congratulate children who find themselves in difficult life situations
Altai State University is hosting the campaign “Dream”, within which gifts are collected for children from large and disadvantaged families.
“For several years now we have been collaborating with the foundation Oblaka, which helps single mothers. The foundation's employees give us letters that the children write to Father Frost, we post them on a special website, where any of our student or university employee can reserve a gift and make a child’s dream come true. This year, the “Defenders of the Fatherland” foundation also contacted us,” said Daria Kondratova, chairman of the Altai State University Students’ League.
On December 19, the gifts were already transferred to the foundation, which will send them to the children.
“This year we didn’t collect many gifts, but they are all of high quality: roller skates, a volleyball, a bedside lamp, a large teddy bear, a construction set, and a remote control car. Since gifts are expensive, some students united and gave gifts on behalf of entire groups. These gifts are not big spending for us, but for the children this is a real New Year’s miracle!” said Egor Kravchuk, a secretary of the Students’ League.
