1. Laboratory of geoecological monitoring

Areas of ongoing research and grants:

– integrated geoecological monitoring of geosystems in the south of Western Siberia and the Central Asian region with the purpose of studying natural and anthropogenic processes in the context of global climate change

– development and implementation of methods for effective measurement of climatic parameters in the atmosphere and soil to study climate change, soil erosion and water balance, soil moisture dynamics and its availability to plants under natural conditions and within agrocenoses

– scientific support of work on the selection of drought-resistant crops and study of various farming technologies using new generation measuring equipment

– development of a network of monitoring stations in Altai Krai and equipping them with new generation field measuring equipment

– development of methods of dendrochronological analysis for the reconstruction and forecast of climate change

– development and implementation of data mining software, applied geoinformation systems and technologies in the field of geoecological monitoring and territorial development

– development of databases of results of geoecological monitoring and territorial development

– training of scientific and pedagogical personnel through the participation of the Laboratory staff in the implementation of educational programs for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate studies, as well as through the development of various forms of research activities of students as extra-curricular activities
