The MediaHub team returned from Rostov-on-Don with the awards of the All-Russian festival of social advertising "Parallels", which this year brought together about 70 young media professionals from 10 regions of Russia. Yana Bagrintseva, Ekaterina Vedischeva and Daria Zykova, students of the “media communication” direction of the IH, members of the youth media community MediaHub AltSU shared their impressions about the festival:

“The program was very busy; every hour was scheduled. A lot of practice, creativity, and tasks sometimes baffled. I had to leave my comfort zone in seconds and get involved in the process of creating a product. It was some new level of thinking that opened up for us. Not everything worked out from the first time, sometimes it took more time to come up with a suitable concept. But that’s what training is for, to understand how you can do better,” says Daria Zykova, a master’s student in the direction of media communication.

The intensive program of the festival included four thematic days, each of which was completely immersed in one of the educational blocks: concepts, photos and videos, design, and acquaintance with NGO representatives. The speakers were key experts of the media market: Maxim Ilyakhov, author of the bestseller about writing powerful texts, Maria Stepanova, lecturer at the Higher School of Economics, Liza Tyurina, editor-in-chief of the Need Help media foundation, and others. As a result, the teams had to create a pool of their own media products, which included a photo, a poster, and a video.

“Of all possible topics, we chose corporal punishment as an educational tool and eating disorder in adolescents. It was difficult. We discussed strategy, wrote the script, looked for actors. The editing of the video, for example, took almost the whole night,” recalled the participants.

“In the genre of social photography, we decided to stick to the maximum naturalism and naturalness, so we spent more than 2 hours to create a photo. We wanted to show that we need to fight not with our own appearance, but with the thoughts that influencers plant in us (a variety of sources of influence – social networks, bloggers, modeling business, fashion magazines),” the MediaHub team explained.

The concept of the social poster was built on the feeling of fear – the fear of people who do not pay attention and do nothing, the fear of a child, the fear that negligent parents should experience.

The result of hard work was not long in coming – MediaHub took the honorable third place of the festival. The team received a cash prize in the amount of 50,000 rubles, which can be spent on purchasing equipment in M.Video.
