As part of the Priority 2030 Program, scientists from the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology of Altai State University are implementing the project “Energy of Intelligence – Center for Proper Nutrition and High Performance.” This is a modern, interesting, bright space for holding meetings, classes and events with schoolchildren, as well as further education courses.

The center is equipped with the “Individual Diet” software package, designed for automated assessment and correction of actual nutrition, taking into account physical activity, psychological stress, bad habits, and the presence of chronic diseases. The psychophysiology laboratory, which has been successfully operating at the institute for a long time, joined the project. It has equipment that can be used to evaluate a person’s performance.

“A person can undergo diagnostics of mental and physical performance using generally accepted methods (determining indicators of attention, speed of visual-motor reactions, conducting functional cardiorespiratory tests, etc.). Then undergo an assessment of their own nutritional patterns. Based on the data obtained, we provide individual recommendations for correcting nutrition and lifestyle. In some cases, we can go deeper, record an ECG and do variable cardiointervalometry, and conduct a spirographic study (especially relevant for smokers). You can conduct a bioimpedance analysis and determine the component composition of the body. All this will give us a comprehensive understanding of human performance,” says the teacher from the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology, physiologist, Candidate of Biological Sciences Inna Voronina.

New techniques can be tested on yourself as part of further education courses. Currently, enrollment is underway for the advanced training program “Current problems of education: the formation of a healthy lifestyle through proper nutrition of subjects of the educational process.” It is aimed primarily at biology teachers, but is also suitable for people who are not related to pedagogy – those who are interested in the topic of proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.

Students will learn about the principles of education within the framework of a healthy lifestyle, the physiology of metabolism, the causes of obesity, the importance of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, water and minerals in nutrition, and the principles of introducing physical activity breaks.

The theoretical part of the program takes place online, and the workshop is held at the Center for Proper Nutrition and High Performance of Altai State University.

“The program is useful not only for teachers. We explain all the theory in simple terms, and practice is carried out using our modern software package. Each student will learn to assess nutritional status based on body mass index, daily calorie needs, and also create a food diary using their own example. Of course, this is useful for each of us,” said project leader, an associate professor of the Department of Botany Natalya Speranskaya.

The program lasts 18 hours, the final certification takes place offline.

Enrollment is also underway for the program “Psychophysiological foundations of managing mental performance.” Students will learn about the causes, signs and stages of fatigue and overwork during mental work, prevention of this phenomenon, and how to properly rest and recover. During the workshop, university specialists will teach you how to determine your own mental performance indicators and work with them. The program lasts 16 hours.
