The ski base of Altai State University is ready to welcome ski fans!

The first visitors this year traditionally hit the ski-track on January 1st. According to Head of the ski center, an associate professor of the Department of Physical Education at Altai State University, Alexander Agishev, skiing was very popular during the New Year holidays – both employees and students came to ski. Including two large groups of international students of the preparatory department.

This year, the premises of the Altai State University ski center have become more comfortable – at the end of December, new plastic windows were installed in the entire building. Now it has not only become warmer, but it has also become possible to air locker rooms and equipment storage rooms, which is important for its safety. Cosmetic renovations are ahead, including updating two locker rooms.

“Despite the changeable weather, the ski Zdorovie Track is good, suitable for both skating and classic techniques. We have about 300 pairs of skis, about 90% of which are new plastic ones, for skating and classic skiing. Students and university staff can borrow equipment for free; it is enough to show their ID card. It can be obtained from the HR Department. In addition, we have a list of employees, and if for some reason a person does not have an ID card, we can check them against this list,” clarified Alexander Agishev.

The base has skis for both adults and children – starting from size 28. One employee or student can receive two pairs of skis for free – for themselves and a family member. The other members or guests will have to pay for rent, but it is inexpensive – 150 rubles per hour for plastic skis and 100 rubles for wooden ones.

The ski center of Altai State University is located at Lyapidevsky ul., 6a (behind the parking lot of the Altai Regional Clinical Perinatal Center “Dar”).

It is open seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
