Sports weekend: How the Altai State University ski base will work during the New Year holidays
The ski base of Altai State University will be open throughout the New Year's weekend. From 9 a.m. on January 1, outdoor enthusiasts will be able to grab skis or Nordic walking poles and take their first walk through the winter forest of the new year.
During the New Year holidays, the Altai State University ski base will work daily. January 31 – from 9:00 to 18:00, and starting from January 1 – from 9:00 to 19:00. There are 300 pairs of skis at the base, and about 90% are new plastic skis for skating and classic skiing. Children's skis are also available, starting from size 28. Nordic walking poles and snow scooters for children are also available for rental.
Students, university employees and their children are provided with equipment free of charge. For the rest, an hour's rental of wooden skis will cost 100 rubles, and plastic ones – 150 rubles.
This year, in addition to new skis, the base purchased five bicycles and 23 off-road scooters. The locker room has also been redecorated.
Alexander Agishev, an associate professor of the Department of Physical Education, Head of the Altai State University ski base, notes that every year on January 1, active recreation enthusiasts come to ski.
“We invite everyone to spend the New Year’s weekend doing sports. Keep moving, enjoy nature, and then the holiday will lbring only pleasant memories!”, notes Alexander Agishev.
