Holidays are a time not only to relax, but also to learn something new. This is exactly how students of the preparatory department of the Institute of Humanities of Altai State University spent the beginning of January.

The guys visited the Philharmonia, the Stone Planet museum, a ski center, but the most unforgettable was the excursion and New Year’s program from the Barnaul Zoo “Lesnaya Skazka”.

“I really enjoyed the atmosphere in the zoo; and the Bengal tiger and lions were a highlight. The zoo surprised me because it is different from the zoo in my country. Such a huge amount of work by the staff to create a wonderful, picturesque, and cozy place! Amazing animals and birds, photographs, mini-cafes, ice cream, benches where you can sit and enjoy it. The atmosphere of the zoo is really inspirational and peaceful,” Suwanni Thammasit from Laos shared her impressions.

Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Additional Education Tatyana Antonenko thanked

Zoo Director Sergei Pisarev for the warm welcome.

“The foreign students and I not only got acquainted with the animals of the world’s fauna, but also plunged into traditional Russian tea drinking with bread rings and pretzels, and also found ourselves in a real New Year’s fairy tale with Santa Claus, making wishes, round dances, riddles and, of course, gifts!» said Tatyana Antonenko.
